The Photographer

The city is the studio

I am the photographer behind Strictly Picly. I plan every session around real places with real texture. Brick walls, murals, rail platforms, and downtown bridges. Then I wait for the light to turn gold.

A session with me feels more like a walk than a photo shoot. You move. You talk. I call out simple directions, so you are never stuck wondering what to do with your hands. If you feel stiff in front of a camera at first, that is normal, and it fades fast.

You end up with portraits that have some grit and a lot of warmth, made on streets you have driven past a hundred times. Start with the senior gallery to see what that looks like.

Sessions

What do you want photos of?

Pick the session that fits. Every one gets the same planning, the same light, and the same careful edit. Every photo you see here is from a real senior session, because those are the galleries I have published so far. I photograph families the same way, and I am booking family sessions now.

Senior Portraits

Senior year goes fast. I plan your session around your spots, your outfits, and your music, then shoot it like a cover story. Murals, rail lines, blossoms, neon. Bring the letter jacket.

Families and Kids

Relaxed sessions that let kids be kids. I keep everyone moving, so you get real laughs instead of stiff rows of matching shirts.

Couples and Engagements

Golden hour walks, downtown lights, and the two of you. Good for engagements, anniversaries, or no reason at all.

Find good light. Stand somewhere real. The rest is easy.

How I shoot, in three short sentences
Recent Work

Three seniors, three different moods

Same camera. Same photographer. The session bends to fit the person in front of it.

Senior in headphones under neon lights

Golden hour, then neon

This senior wanted calm water and city lights, so the evening started on a downtown footbridge just as the sun dropped. Warm flare, soft reflections, easy poses. After sunset, I kept shooting. The last frames used nothing but strings of colored lights, headphones on, blue and red glow everywhere.

Spring helped too. The trees by the river were blooming, so a few frames went soft and pink before the neon came out. One evening, three different moods, and every one of them still looks like him. See more from the senior galleries.

Brick, rail lines, and a letter jacket

This one leaned urban. A brick arch downtown, a fenced walkway, and the rail platform right as a train rolled in. He wore his red letter jacket for half the frames, then switched to a plain white tee, so one session came home with two different looks.

The best stop was a painted welcome window at a neighborhood elementary school. It is a small thing now. In ten years it will be the frame his family goes looking for. Plan a session like this.

Painted walls, then the gym lights

This one started on foot in downtown Carrollton. Paint walls, plate glass, the old Plaza marquee, and a set of rail lines running out of town. A black rugby collar, light jeans, and a lot of walking.

Then the school opened its gym and the mood turned over completely. Letter jacket first, then a jersey, then the floor to himself. One afternoon, two rooms that look nothing alike. See the full session.

How It Works

Booking takes three steps

  1. Reach out

Send the contact form. Tell me who the photos are for and any dates you are hoping to hit.

  2. Plan it together

You will pick a location, a time with good light, and outfits that feel like you. I bring ideas if you are stuck.

  3. Shoot, then see the photos

The session feels like a walk with a camera. Afterward, I edit your gallery and send it to you online.

Ready when you are

Tell me what you want photos of. I will handle the plan, the light, and the nerves.
